The Spindrift 10 is probably the best bargain I build!
Available as both a nesting and non nesting version, I have made the commitment
of Build jigs and patterns that speed construction and hence lower the costs for
the buyer.
The Spindrift 10 makes an excellent yacht tender and the nesting version allows
it to be stored on even the smallest of yachts' foredecks.

The Spindrift series have been specifically designed to be the best compromise
and combination of sailing, rowing and motoring attributes. It will row easily
and sail excellently with the ability to get up on plane under sail alone.
It also has a hull form that allows it to get up on plane with as little as a
2 hp motor.
Other features are very light weight at around 80 lbs that will be a pleasure
anytime you wish to move it about. As compared to many production fiberglass
and or injection molded plastic tenders that weigh in at 150 lbs.
It has excellent stability to feel solid underfoot and the confidence and
security that comes form the huge air chambers under the longitudinal outboard
seating. These seats make sailing exceptionally comfortable and also means that
once righted after a capsize very little water remains in the cockpit floor as
the air chambers keep the hull high out of the water.
A popular fleet racing boat, the Spindrift 10's sailing abilities won't embarrass you!
The Spindrift is also a racehorse if you have a bent toward sail performance
and has won many trophies in many races, In fact, the designer Graham Byrnes has
an open challenge to enter into a row, motor, sail race against any other
commercially available tender out there.
Since I have built the build jigs and patterns, I can offer one of these as a
dedicated row motor boat for only $2,500.00. Now this is a bit more than some
production plastic boats, but after trying both of them in the water I think
you would consider the money well spent on performance enhancements. It is
substantially less money than many premium fiberglass tenders out there in
the same size range.
Sail kit to include sails, board and rudder and rigging can be added for an
extra $1,500.00.
Consider the Spindrift 10 for a fine stable tender, lightweight dinghy or fast
daysailer, all at a very economical cost.

Perhaps you are debating between a hard tender and an inflatable. Certainly
you like the ease of rowing a hard tender as you no longer need to bother
with the hassle of storing and fitting an outboard to the inflatable. And
you find that the lightweight of a handcrafted wooden tender over that of a
commercial fiberglass or plastic tender is very attactive too. And clearly
the thought that many inflatable need replacement after just 4 years of
intensive cruising distressing. However you do prefer the extra load
carrying ability of the inflatable and the extra resistance to tipping a
hard point to give up.
Well, we could always modify your new Spindrift tender into a rigid
inflatable for you with the addition of 2 inflatable tubes along either side
of either the Spindrift 10, or the nesting Spindrift to give you the best of
both worlds.
