The Ocracoke design is a flared bow North Carolina Sport
Fisherman. Graham has made a name for himself in the North
Carolina area designing one off Sport Fisherman that are
built by local yards that end up having price tags exceeding
the 6 figure mark. While we can all drool over such designs,
few of us can afford them. Graham designed the Ocracoke to
fulfill our desires in this area in a price range that is
affordable to many more.

Now I have taken a fair amount of heat from some ardent
environmentalists for calling this design a green boat. The
ability to power this boat with between 70 and 150 HP send
some into a fit that I dare call it green. In fact I had some
state that all such power plants be outlawed for recreational
use.
Now I will grant you this design consumes more fuel than
either the Outerbanks
Lobster Boat or the Marissa. But it does provide
performance rivaling deep V fiberglass hulls of twice the
Horsepower and twice the fuel consumption.
An Ocracoke 20 built with a 90 HP outboard motor was clocked at 42 MPH by
GPS with 5 adults on board. And if you desire to use less
fuel one can easily throttle down and plane at lower speeds
with the same engine. The Ocracoke is also an exceptionally
rock solid platform underfoot while fishing, even with people
milling about.
